Responsibility is wider than moral fault and legal liability. Thus being responsible and being legally liable are separate and constitute a matter of luck. People are never legally liable merely because they have caused someone harm.1
The concept of causation is one of the basic factors that need to be satisfied before liability can arise. According to Hume causation the “cement of the universe”; the relation that connects events and objects of this world in significant relationship.2 Relations of cause and effect play a central role in many legal controversies.
