Hon’ble Justice Vaidyanathapuram Rama Ayyar Krishna Iyer, a dazzling and alluring lawyer, astonishing jurist, incredible philosopher, a precious jewel of law kin and above all a phenomenal human being. Born in Palakkad in Kerala on 15 November 1915, Justice Krishna Iyer studied law in Madras. He started legal practice in 1937, under his father in the Thalassery and appeared for workers and peasants in several agrarian struggle-related cases in his early years of practice. In 1952, he was first elected to the Madras Legislative Assembly from Thalassery. He became Law Minister in 1957 in Kerala’s First Left Government. He was instrumental in passing several pieces of people-oriented legislations during his tenure as Minister in the Communist Government.
