Death Sentence Need for a Unanimous Decision — A Social and Legal Perspective

The issue of death penalty has been debated, discussed, deliberated and argued worldwide many times but never has this issue been able to reach a certain conclusion or solution. Many concerns have been attached with this issue ranging from arbitrariness in the justice delivery system, inadequate investigation procedures, instances of innocents being locked behind bars, unbound discretion given to the executive and judiciary etc. India is also not unknown to these issues. Rather they have got so mixed up with the social, political and economic realities of Indian culture; the people have become so busy with their daily chores that they seem comfort ....
