Introduction Sir Alexander Graham Bell’s invention of telephone has revolutionised interactive person-to-person communication in more than one way. On-line services, the Internet, Intranets and other forms of electronic communications, both interactive and otherwise, are reshaping the way world handles information and does business. With the advent of technology, the Internet has evolved as a huge unregulated market place. It has a number of advantages over other marketing media, including but not limited to speed of access, relatively low cost and immediately of response. It is estimated that more than 812 million people are now Internet users. It must be remembered that the Internet was invented by the US Defence systems to facilitate American Cold-War designs.
