Born in 1971 the MRTU and PULP Act had remained in exile up to 8th September, 1975, the day on which it saw the light for the first time and stood third in the row to protect the interests of working class in the State of Maharashtra, the other two elder Acts being Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, and the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946. From its inception and also in its enforcement this particular enactment has faced a spate of unkind and uncharitable criticism from those who had acquired legal expertise in the field of industrial jurisprudence and also from those who criticised without learning anything.
