Conservation of biodiversity has a vast number of potential uses for human beings. Biodiversity is a source and support to all life on this earth. Any threat to biodiversity is a threat to all its components. India has already lost about 80% of its original habitat for biological diversity and conservation of such habitats call for serious thinking. Conservation of biodiversity is sine qua non for the preservation and protection of the human life on this planet. This article underscores the need for an effective biodiversity law.
