Right of Advocates to Practice?

In India, the profession of Lawyers came to be established during the British rule in 18th century when they were called variously as Vakils, Counsels, Solicitors, Attorneys etc. which system had prevailed till the enactment of Advocates Act, 1961.
Parliament had enacted Advocates Act, 1961 to regulate legal profession. Under this Act, the previous distinction of class of legal practitioners such as Solicitor, Attorney etc., had been done away with and made only one class of persons entitled to practice the profession of law, called as “Advocates”.
Section 30 of the Advocates Act, 1961 empowered an advocate to practice in any court of law across the country as of right. Section 30 reads as under:
