Motor Vehicles Act (59 of 1988) , S.168— Compensation - Deceased a coolie; aged about 24 years - Multiplier of 17 adopted - Taking his annual income at Rs. 6,000/-, Compensation awarded was 6000 x 17 = Rs. 1,02,000/- - Non-pecuniary damages and loss of consortium of Rs. 15,000/- each, was also granted - Thus, total compensation of Rs. 1,32,000/- was awarded.
